Guide Right Kappa League (GRKL) Information Meeting

The St. Petersburg Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc and the Kappa Alpha Psi Guide Right Foundation of St. Petersburg invite you to our 2024/2025 Guide Right Kappa League Information Meeting. 

This meeting is for parents, guardians and male students in grades 6th – 12th, who attend any school, in Pinellas County. 

If you are a new or a returning parent, guardian & student, click here to submit or update a student information form, for the new academic year.

Parents and guardians, we know you and your scholars are busy.  We value your time.  Please complete both surveys at the bottom to let us know if you will attend the information meeting and the best day/time for you and your scholar to meet once a month for the GRKL Meeting.

Student scholars will have the opportunity to learn leadership skills by becoming a leader in Kappa League.  They will head-up Kappa League meetings using skills they learn on how to plan, organize, lead, document and report at meetings.  Kappa League Officer positions are available such as: 
  • President
  • Vice President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
 
Kappa League officers must be available to meet virtually, once a month, prior to the Kappa League monthly meeting, with Kappa Men(tors), who share their military, corporate and industry experience on how to effectively plan, organize and run meetings.
Guide Right and Kappa Leaguers will participate in fundraisers and have opportunities to give back to their community through community service projects during Thanksgiving and Christmas. 
In addition volunteer hours earned through our program can be used for other programs, your scholar may be involved in. 
Volunteer hours are especially useful when it’s time to apply for college scholarships.
Parents or Guardians please complete both surveys:

2. GRKL Monthly Meeting Survey to let us know the best time for you and your scholar to participate in our monthly Guide Right Kappa League program.

Season 2; Episode 3

Kappa Leaguers and Parents our chapter will soon be participating in the Kappa League TV program. 

If your scholar is interested in a career in Journalism, TV or simply like speaking in public, this is a place they can explore their talent.

Kappa League Attire

Kappa Leaguers and Parents, The Kappa League Advisory Committee will present a proposal to the Guide Right Foundation and Alumni Chapter to outfit our Kappa Leaguers with a kappa league T-Shirt and Kappa League  Bowtie.  These items will be worn at specific times when representing our Guide Right Kappa League Chapter.  Stay tuned for more information. 

Mental Health Awareness

Parents, our national GR leaders has an initiative this year, for all chapters to host a session on the mental health of our youth.  In the October meeting you heard that the #4 killer among young people between the ages of 5 and 17 is suicide.  

This month we will use material provided by our National GR leaders to observe where our KL’ers are in this area.

We are not mental health experts but we can signal an alarm
